The Secret to Achieving your goals

The Secret to Achieving your goals

We are a month into 2019 and if you’re like me it has felt like an eternity. Since the new year started many of us have come up with new personal goals to accomplish throughout the months. Now that we are a month in, how are you checking in with the goals you’ve made for yourself? If everything isn’t falling into the exact place it should, no worries I have you covered.

How many of us are guilty of over stuffing our agendas? Doing this we set ourselves up for personal dissatisfaction simply due to to poor execution. I know I’m guilty of this as well. However our goals are absolutely attainable, anything you really put your mind to can become. “If you can think it, you can be it.” So ask yourself, what are the goals you truly want to accomplish? Have you been making the everyday choices to be a step closer? Regardless of your answer the most important thing to remember is to approach your goals from a place of self-love to achieve successful personal growth. Read that again for me, “approach your goals from a place of self-love to achieve successful personal growth.” Notice my emphasis on “successful.”

Everyday we wake up to a new opportunity to be closer to the person we want to become. We go through the days making conscious and unconscious decisions that affect our lives. Some days life throws unexpected situations our way that can result to small interruptions in being in alignment with our goals, and that is okay. When I mentioned “approach your goals from a place of self-love to achieve successful personal growth,” did you take a pause when you got to “self-love“? Personally, I feel that the only way we can achieve our goals is if we do them with positive intention that it is for our personal benefit.

It is often easy to feel overwhelmed with projects when you approach it with a “chore-like” mentality. When our personal goals feel unattainable or like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done; slow down and take a step back. Put your goals into perspective. What can you get done today that will put you forward tomorrow? No action is too small when it comes to bettering yourself in anyway that it means to you. Be consumed by your goals but don’t let them break you. Take short breaks to realign yourself to gain a different perspective as needed. It is better to take a break than to work on goals stressed. A positive mindset will produce positive results.

Applying this to everyday

  • If one of your goals is being more organized or cleanly put it this way; you are deserving to be in an environment that gives you joy and peace. Approach daily chores in short spritz that you are completely and solely focused on bettering the environment that you are in, with a grateful heart. Doing this throughout the week will leave you with more free time on your days off to enjoy with friends and family. A clear living space will bring you a clear mind. Our living environment reflects our inner clarity.
  • Maybe better time management is one of your goals. I recommend spending the first and last hour of your day spent doing activities that make you feel alive and bring you peace. Limit your time on social media, you’ll be surprised how much time is consumed online. (Thank you for reading this though) If you have children, try dedicating an hour of quality time with each child. Make time for activities that will bring you closer to your goals. Ask yourself, is this task urgent? Be patient and remember to not overload your schedule. Remember, it is okay to say “NO” to things.
  • The most common personal goal is to be healthier. Whether that is physically or emotionally, so many of us including myself strive to achieve this. My best tip for this area is to start small and build your way up. Start with replacing one bad habit a day and take twenty minutes of the day to be active. Try being more in tune with your body. Eliminate situations that will bring you disturbance. Do it for yourself and only you. When you try to better yourself for the benefit of others you will only be going though the movements superficially. On the other hand if you acknowledge it is something that will better your well being, you’re more than likely to stick with it.

I can go on for hours on this so, here is what I would like you to take from this. The moment you decide that you are worth attaining your goals, you will see progress. And I mean really believing it. Until you can envision yourself living the life you want because you DESERVE it, you’re going to feel stuck. And I love the “New Year, New Me” mentality but my friend, please view yourself as an “on going progress.”

The seeds you plant with good intention today, will help you collect a successful harvest later. Sometimes its going to rain, sometimes the wind is going to blow you around. Even in those times, tend to your seeds, water them so that they become rooted. The roots will then grow and become stronger. So strong you will finally be stable against the winds. With daily care and maintenance when the timing is just right, you will bloom. Remember we are all on our own life paths. The term “successful” is whatever it means to you personally.

I hope this does well to your heart and inspires you with your goals.

With Love and Light xxx
